Industrial Field Technician at C-Pact Enterprise

About the position

Responsibilities:

• Secure equipment/machines to the floor - in some cases concrete work is required.
• Connect equipment/machines electrically to - 230 Volt and 400 Volt. (Mostly 400V) - electrical skills are required.
• Connect equipment/machines to the water supply and to the main drain system- Basic plumbing skills are required.
• Connect equipment/machines to air extraction system.
• Connect equipment/machines to gas or steam supply (rarely).
• Program and setup equipment/machines based on customers' needs and productions requirements.
• Provide training on the use, operation, and maintenance of equipment.
• Complete and submit all relevant paperwork i.e. training register, signed invoice and job sheets etc.
• To identify electrical/electronic faults through a process of fault finding.
• To replace faulty electrical/electronic components/parts once the problem/s has been identified. Parts such as motors, timers, micro-processors, inlet valves, drain valves, door switches, micro-switches, contactors, elements and transformers
• To prepare and submit repair quotations i.e. labour and parts involved and required to repair equipment/machines.
• To identify when bearings need replacement. (Mechanical requirement)
• To repair gas and steam heated equipment.
• To inspection and test components and parts for correct operation.
• To test all safety devices on the machine.
• To clean, lubricate and assess condition of working parts of equipment and machines.
• To complete and submit a report on the condition of the machine and provide a recommendation of any corrective action required.

Requirements:

• Must be qualified in a trade - Electrician/Fitter/Millwright or similar field and have a minimum of 5 years working experience in a trade related position.
• 5 years + of working experience as a industrial installation/repair technician.
• Must have a Matric Certificate.
• Vaid Drivers License
• Clear criminal record
