Purpose Statement
The Industrial Engineer will support the Commercial function by developing a deep, end-to-end understanding of manufacturing processes, supply chain operations, raw material
suppliers, and the systems that support them. The role translates operational and system data into accurate product costing, supports pricing and commercial decisions,
and drives continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing and the supply chain to improve cost, efficiency, data integrity, and profitability.

2. POSITION DESCRIPTION
Main Outputs and Responsibilities for this Position (please provide a short description under each heading/output)
1. Process Improvement & Optimization
Analyse manufacturing processes (labour, machine utilisation, yields, scrap, rework, capacity)
Conduct time studies, process mapping, and work measurement
Analyse raw material usage, waste, lead times, logistics and supplier performance
Develop and maintain end-to-end product cost models
Support pricing, tenders and commercial negotiations
Analyse cost variances (standard vs actual)
Develop deep understanding of ERP/MRP systems (BOMs, routings, inventory, costing)
Support ERP data accuracy and governance
Build and maintain cost and performance reports and dashboards
Drive continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives
Apply Lean and Industrial Engineering tools
Collaborate with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, IT and Commercial teams
2. Health and Safety
Ensure and enforce that aspects in area of responsibility conform to health and safety requirements.
Maintain housekeeping standards in area of responsibility (e.g. ensure cleanliness assigned machines and areas).
Work safely and report on safety hazards or issues.
Report any accidents, incidents and near misses. 3. Quality
Apply the company’s quality principles and standards.
Maintain Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
4. Food Safety System Certification (FSSC)
Food safety standards are site specific and at these sites employees should: o Apply the site’s food safety principles and standards. o Report any food safety hazards or issues to your Supervisor/Manager. o Comply to and maintain all GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) in relation
to the Company’s FSMS (Food Safety Management System). 5. Self-development and Growth

3. JOB EVALUATION CRITERIA
A) Knowledge and Skills
Secondary Education Grade 12
Tertiary Education (including Diplomas, Certificates and Degrees)
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering
Experience 3-5 years in manufacturing, supply chain or industrial engineering
