About the position
We are seeking a highly motivated Indirect Buyer / Purchasing Specialist to join a dynamic and fast-paced environment on a fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a procurement professional to contribute to large-scale sourcing projects, drive cost-efficiency, and ensure supplier compliance in line with global standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive cost-effective sourcing for assigned commodities through detailed market evaluation (local and international).
- Manage tenders from demand identification to sourcing recommendations and order placements.
- Conduct price negotiations, supplier assessments (technical and financial), and performance management.
- Handle contract management, including B-BBEE and ISO certifications, PQCs, and documentation for audit compliance.
- Develop supplier relationships, support process improvement (e.g., outline agreements), and ensure compliant procurement processes.
- Collaborate across organisational levels and maintain structured tracking of multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Use tools like SAP, Excel, PowerPoint, and adopt a project management approach to procurement tasks.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- National Diploma or Degree in Administration, Commercial, Purchasing, Engineering, or BCom (or equivalent).
- Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and business writing skills.
- Proficient in SAP and Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint).
- Understanding of Integrated Management Systems, B-BBEE, ESD, TISAX, and ISO compliance.
- Ability to operate independently and manage multiple projects with a solution-oriented mindset.
