About the position
Our client, a leading and JSE-listed mining company based in Kathu, Northern Cape, is currently looking to hire an Inclusive Procurement Officer to join their team. Reporting into the Project Procurement Manager, you will provide analytical support for implementing a global strategic programme that delivers on Inclusive Procurement ambitions and drives positive socio-economic impact within host communities. This will be a 3 year renewable contract position.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Procurement/ Supply Chain Management
- At least 3 years' recent experience in an inclusive procurement officer role or similar capacity within the mining/ metals and steel/ EPCM industries
- Strong understanding of socio-economic development principles, particularly in the context of rural community development.
- Experienced in econometrics and relevant modelling techniques, data management, reporting, along with associated systems and processes.
- Experience in regulatory and legislative frameworks governing inclusive procurement/ supplier development, including scorecards and reporting requirements.
- Must have an awareness of supply chain concepts and practices.
- Comprehension of project management and planning principles.
- Should have experience in stakeholder engagement and communication, strategy and Business Case Development, Integrated Risk Management and sustainable and responsible Supply Chain
- Able to work very effectively in a virtual environment with own team, key internal and external stakeholders and suppliers.
- Fluent in English (advanced level for verbal and written)
- Driver's license and own vehicle
Main duties will include, but are not limited to:
Performance and Delivery
General
- Embrace an agile Supply Chain by being adaptive and flexible to accommodate and focus on emerging and changing business priorities.
Community Strategy and Programme Management - Analyze and process data to ensure accurate Inclusive Procurement reporting.
- Analyze and process data related to informing strategic decision-making.
- Collaborate with systems teams to improve reporting platforms and outputs.
- Identify optimisation opportunities.
Modelling, Information and Reporting - Track of performance against IP scorecards.
Commercial Value Delivery and Supplier Development
- Support Commercial teams in tracking/monitoring implementation of Inclusive Procurement initiatives.
- Ensure IP alignment with relevant data reported in the Contractor Performance Management system.
- Support strategy development through relevant data processing.
Partnerships and Suppliers - Track implementation of partnering agreements.
- Collaborate with Zimele team (or other service providers) to support reporting of all Enterprise and Supplier Development activities and monitoring record-keeping in this regard (for compliance reporting).
- Compliance with Regulatory and Legislative Frameworks
- Track compliance with regulatory and legislative requirements and analyse outputs to advise management of deviations, risk areas and potential opportunities.
- Sustainability and Social
- Monitor and track Company's social and sustainability strategies; and initiatives related to the Supply Chain.
- Support engagement of host community suppliers, business forums, and relevant local governmental bodies.

- Drive own performance management and personal learning.
- Embrace a Supply Chain team culture of diversity and inclusiveness.
- Governance and Compliance
- Comply with applicable legislative and company's procurement policies and procedures, site and end user-based support and education.
- Adhere to company's policy and standards on Communities and Inclusive Procurement, reflecting sustainability, inclusion and diversity ambitions, and other national imperatives.
- Adhere to internal and Supply Chain Governance requirements for all team members on Inclusive Procurement activities in the relevant portfolio.
- Comply with applicable legislative and company procurement policies and procedures.
