Our client is looking to appoint an enthusiastic Inbound Telemarketer who will generate sales from both inbound leads and cold calling or answering requests in a fast-paced environment. Successful incumbent will be responsible for influencing existing or potential customers to buy products or services and for promoting business growth; must be able to understand the customer's requirements in a short time and present solutions that meet their needs; be patient and cool-tempered to deal with aggressiveness and complaints and be a good listener.

Responsibilities

• Cold call people to sell insurance.
• Respond to inbound leads within a day.
• Answer incoming calls from prospective customers.
• Use scripts to provide information about insurance and present their benefits.
• Ask pertinent questions to understand the customer's requirements.
• Persuade the customer to buy by demonstrating how insurance services meet their needs.
• Record the customer's personal information on our database accurately via internal systems.
• Deal with complaints and enquiries efficiently.
• Go the "extra mile" to meet sales quota and facilitate future sales.
• Keep records of calls and sales and record useful information.

Requirements and skills

• Proven experience as telemarketer or similar sales/customer service role.
• Proven track record of successfully meeting sales quotas.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other relevant software including CRM software and telephone systems.
• Familiarity with insurance terminology and processes is a plus.
• Excellent communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills.
• Proficient in English, and Xhosa preferably.
• Ability to adapt to new technologies and software platforms.
• Skilled in negotiation and dealing with complaints.
• Persistent and results-oriented.
• Teams player with a positive attitude.
• Problem-solving skills and a pro-active approach to tasks.
• Patient and able to handle customer rejection.
• Matriculation certificate; BSc/BA Degree is an advantage.
