About the position
Good day, we have a position available for a Junior Imports Controller in Kliprivier, Meyerton, Gauteng. The position offers R 15 000 to R 18 per month. The company is in the manufacturing industry.
- Documentation Preparation
- Assist in preparing and managing all necessary import documentation, including purchase orders, shipping documents, and customs declarations.
- Ensure that all documents are accurate, complete, and compliant with relevant regulations.
- Compliance Monitoring
- Support the compliance process by ensuring that all imports adhere to local, national, and international trade regulations and customs laws.
- Stay updated on changes in import regulations and policies.
- Resolve Custom Queries
- Shipment Coordination
- Collaborate with suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to coordinate the logistics of incoming shipments.
- Track and monitor shipments to ensure timely delivery.
- Inventory Tracking
- Assist in managing inventory by updating records of incoming shipments and reconciling inventory levels.
- Help maintain accurate stock records to facilitate inventory control.
- Problem Resolution
- Identify and assist in resolving issues related to import shipments, such as delays, discrepancies, or compliance concerns.
- Communicate with relevant parties to address problems promptly.
- Cost Monitoring
- Assist in monitoring import costs and help identify opportunities for cost savings in the supply chain.
- Support the preparation of reports related to import expenses and efficiency.
- Preparation of payments
- Profit and Loss journals to be captured if needed.
- Data Management
- Collect and analyse data related to import activities to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Help maintain databases and records related to imports for reporting and analysis.
- Communication and Collaboration
- Maintain effective communication with internal teams, suppliers, and logistics partners to ensure smooth import operations.
- Communicate with customs clearing agents, transporters and submit clearing documents.
- Administrative Support
- Provide administrative support to the imports department, including filing, scheduling meetings, and managing correspondence.
- Assist in preparing reports and presentations related to import activities.
- Liaise with Internal Departments: Raw Materials Receiving, Sales, Production Planning, Accounts.
Assist with ad hoc duties not limited to the above as and when required
