About the position
Purpose of the Role: To ensure that all import shipments are released timeously on respective vessels which must be checked for accuracy and processed within the required deadlines.
- Updating ETA's for vessels.
- Distribution of shipped on board details to all clients and clearing agents.
- Ensuring all information relating to a particular vessel are recorded and kept in that vessel's file.
- Tracking of containers.
- Generating and printing of CTOs.
- Updating of manifest correctors, telex releases and elsewhere payments.
- Submitting of all the necessary documentations to the port and customs to avoid penalties e.g. discharge lists, manifest, bill to container, container to bill, manifest, cover sheet and acquittals.
- Assisting operations department with container numbers and figures that must be discharged.
- Monitor change of destination containers.
- Sending container lists daily to all carrier haulage customers which covers full timeline of each container.
- After hours duties when required.
- Handling import / account related queries.
- Assisting Debtors department in querying invoices that has not been settled.
- Generating invoices and credit notes.
Minimum Requirements
2-3 years of experience in an Import Freight, in a Shipping environment, mandatory
