IFRS 9 Specialist

About the position

A well-established financial services business is seeking to appoint an IFRS 9 Specialist

The IFRS 9 Specialist will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of IFRS 9 impairment models and policies.
The role will ensure compliance with accounting standards, manage model governance, and support accurate financial reporting.
Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Actuarial Science, Risk Management, or related field
• BCom Honours or equivalent postgraduate qualification would be advantageous.
• Professional certifications such as CA(SA), CIMA, ACCA, CFA, FRM would be advantageous.

Experience:

• 3–5 years of experience working with IFRS 9 model development, validation, or implementation.
• Solid experience in financial services, banking, or credit risk management environments.
• Experience in preparing financial reports in compliance with IFRS standards.
• Advanced Excel skills
