A company specializing in hydraulics and engineering seeks a Hydraulics Technician to join its team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in the service, maintenance, and repair of hydraulic systems on heavy-duty equipment.
Role Overview
This role is for a skilled Hydraulics Technician with practical experience in the repair and maintenance of hydraulic systems on heavy-duty machinery. The work will primarily involve hands-on tasks in a workshop and on-site at client locations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude and a dedication to precision.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintenance & Repair: Perform hands-on servicing, maintenance, and repair of hydraulic components, including pumps, motors, cylinders, and valve banks.
- Diagnostics: Troubleshoot and diagnose complex hydraulic system faults both in the workshop and on-site.
- Component Overhaul: Dismantle, inspect, and reassemble hydraulic components to manufacturer specifications.
- Hose and Pipe Fitting: Fabricate, assemble, and fit hydraulic hoses and pipes.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and industry standards during all work tasks.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on professional experience as a Hydraulics Technician or a similar role.
- Technical Skills: Proven ability to work with hydraulic systems, including disassembly, inspection, and repair.
- Problem-Solving: Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for identifying and resolving hydraulic system failures.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to liaise with team members and clients.
- Work Ethic: A strong commitment to quality craftsmanship and attention to detail.
Working Conditions
The role will be based in a workshop environment with requirements for travel to on-site locations, including mining, construction, and agricultural sites, to perform field work and diagnostics.
Compensation
- Salary: R160 - R220 per hour
