About the position

Role Purpose:

  • To work in partnership with managers and colleagues to shape, develop and deliver HR activities and initiatives in support of organizational goals.
  • Plays a key role in delivering great employee experience by being the primary point of contact for Employees for a range of key employee moments.
  • Provides proactive, practical guidance to Managers and Staff to embed good people management practices and maintain positive employee relations.
  • Responsible for the execution of administrative and operational activities and provide hands on support.

Responsibilities & Key Outputs:

  • Acting as first "human" point of contact for any employee query in the assigned departments.
  • Delivering HR support to the Supporting Functions and ensuring HR agenda is fully aligned with the business goals
  • Supporting line managers and teams in business delivery, managing their people, implementing mandated changes, and building close relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Ensuring that employee policies, practices, and programs are consistently applied across own area of responsibility.
  • Ensure compliance to any collective agreements that are in place.
  • Driving employment equity, diversity & inclusion initiatives.
  • Being involved in organizing and implementing workshops, HR (organizational) changes, health, wellbeing & development activities for employees, enabling them to thrive.
  • Coordinate and execute the recruitment and selection process (end to end).
  • Execute human resources administration by capturing and maintaining records (both physical and electronic) e.g., Loading new hires on SAP, creating and issuing letters, filing required documents for all HR processes etc.
  • Coordinate and assist with various aspects of new staff on-boarding processes.
  • Accurately and effectively process employees' data involving legitimate changes, i.e., transfers, etc.
  • Provide professional advice, assistance, and recommendations to business on Employee Relations matters
  • Provide support by supplying information and assistance to HR Business Partners, staff and line managers on HR
  • Compile monthly and quarterly reports in line with Human Resources requirements.

Health & Safety / Governance and Compliance:

  • Participate in quality initiatives and corrective actions to address non-conformance to standards.
  • Adhere to and meet all relevant safety targets and measurements within the area of responsibility.
  • Adhere to and enforce all health and safety regulations and report all safety hazards, accidents, and incidents to relevant parties.
  • Adhere to, the compliance of all Environmental, Health and Safety and all other applicable regulatory statutes, and all other safety and quality systems.
  • Actively adhere to and enforce POPI Act requirements.

Quality:

  • Ensure alignment of all work processes to the required quality standards.
  • Proactively identify continual improvement strategies.
  • Action agreed quality initiatives ensuring that they are aligned to tasks/processes/systems.
  • Implement corrective actions identified within specified time.

Ad hoc:

  • May be required to fulfil ad hoc duties as and when required.
  • Assist in handling ad hoc HR issues as required.
  • Assist colleagues as required with the implementation of projects as per departmental strategies

Minimum Experience & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Industrial and Organisational Psychology or related fields (3 years) / NQF level 7 (Essential)
  • Honours Degree will be advantageous
  • 4 years' experience in the same or a similar role

An ideal candidate will have experience in the Manufacturing Sector, however candidates from other sectors may be considered.
