About the position

HUMAN RESOURCES ADMINISTRATOR

Our client, based in Athlone, requires a competent candidate for the efficient administration of the Human Resource Department and to ensure that all HR related documentation is easily retrievable for ease of reference and to ensure that a good administration system maintained at all times.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

General Administration

  • Responsible for the smooth administrative running of the department.  Includes setting up and maintaining a sound filing system for HR department
  • Ensure all filing is completed weekly
  • Ensure proper record keeping and sound human resources administration (includes leave administration and maintenance of employee details on the Share point system) and to act as custodian of all employee files
  • Ensure the efficient administration of the following HR functions:
    • HR correspondence
    • Casual Time and Attendance and spreadsheets


  • Control all temporary contracts.  Ensure the temporary contracts are completed correctly and signed by the Manager and Employee.  Return all incorrect contracts to the relevant departmental head.

  • Capture all temporary contracts received and to submit a report to the HR manager on the 25th of each month.  Submit a report to each departmental manager and middle manager

  • Administer all temp appointment contracts ensuring:
    • all appointment documentation ie Application forms, ID, Bank details, Drivers licences and work permits are in order
    • responsible for the administration of permanent appointments


  • Responsible for Employee induction for all BU and Casual Recruits

  • Conduct Casual recruitment

  • Maintain records and statistics of the Recruitment and Selection process

  • Handle all HR issues and disciplinary matters and grievances and co-ordinate all HR functions

  • Required to do adhoc projects as the business dictates

  • Co-ordinate HR function, Health and Safety, Employment Equity, Shop Steward meetings


Requirements:

  • Matric
  • Good understanding of all HR related legislation
  • Knowledge of the operation of each individual department within the business
  • Knowledge of company and HR policies, procedures and structures
  • Organised and good administration skills
