About the position
The Human Resource Officer will serve as the on-the-ground HR representative in the Gauteng region, acting on behalf of the National Human Resource Manager. This role requires a proactive and hands-on HR professional who will represent the organization in HR-related meetings, address staff concerns, conduct compliance checks, and ensure the smooth and compliant execution of HR functions at site level. The HR officer will be responsible for anticipating, managing, and resolving HR and operational issues in a timely and professional manner, while maintaining consistent communication and reporting back to the National HR Manager.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Represent the National Human Resource Manager in client meetings related to HR and operations.
- Attend to employee and management queries on-site and provide real-time HR
- Maintain a visible and approachable HR presence across worksites or offices in the
- Conduct regular compliance audits and spot checks on employee files and HR
- Represent the company at CCMA conciliations and preparatory meetings as
- Investigate, mediate, and resolve employee relations issues in line with company policies and South African labour law.
- Monitor adherence to company HR policies, procedures, and codes of conduct at site
- Provide guidance to line managers on HR best practices, disciplinary procedures, and performance management.
- Assist in onboarding, inductions, and exit processes to ensure consistent HR
- Prepare accurate HR reports and updates to be submitted to the National HR Manager on a scheduled and ad-hoc basis.
- Identify HR risks, trends, and staff morale issues early and propose proactive
- Liaise with payroll and other departments where HR-related integration is
- Support regional recruitment efforts as needed by facilitating interviews or
- Deliver basic HR training or toolbox talks to staff and supervisors when
- Ensure counseling is arranged for employees on request
- Assist in developing a training plan for training related
- Ensure that training plans are sent to all stakeholders timeously
- Provide support in the process of developing and maintaining training programs
- Conduct Training with the training program
- Assist in conducting any research if required
- Gather and upload all training certificates, Invoices and attendance for ATR
- Maintain updated records of training
- Assist in designing or developing assessments/ Mandatory test to assess staff
KEY REQUIREMENTS :
- Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a generalist HR role, preferably with field or site
- Solid understanding of South African Labour Law and CCMA
- Ability to work independently and make sound HR decisions on
- Excellent interpersonal, conflict resolution, and communication
- Strong administrative, organizational, and reporting
- Willingness to travel within the region and attend to urgent site
