Role Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager with strong Risk Management and Health & Safety expertise to oversee and drive the successful implementation of safety, compliance, and operational risk initiatives across key projects.
The successful candidate will ensure that all project activities adhere to health and safety regulations, risk mitigation frameworks, and operational governance standards, while managing timelines, stakeholders, and project deliverables.
This role requires a proactive individual with strong project leadership capabilities, risk management experience, and knowledge of workplace health and safety practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage projects focused on risk management, health & safety, and compliance initiatives
- Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, budgets, and deliverables
- Identify, assess, and monitor project risks and mitigation strategies
- Implement and maintain health and safety frameworks, policies, and procedures
- Ensure compliance with relevant safety regulations, legislation, and company standards
- Conduct risk assessments, hazard identification, and safety audits
- Maintain and manage risk registers and incident reporting processes
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to drive safety culture and risk awareness
- Monitor and report on project progress, risks, and compliance metrics
- Lead incident investigations and support the implementation of corrective actions
- Coordinate with operational teams to ensure safe project execution
Required Experience
- 5 – 8+ years experience in Project Management
- Proven experience managing risk management or health & safety related projects
- Experience working within regulated environments (e.g. infrastructure, operations, construction, engineering, utilities, or large enterprise environments)
- Strong understanding of risk management methodologies and compliance frameworks
- Experience conducting risk assessments and safety audits
- Experience managing multiple stakeholders and cross-functional teams
Qualifications
- Degree or Diploma in Project Management, Risk Management, Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field
- Project Management certification (PMP / Prince2 / Agile) – advantageous
- Health & Safety certification (SAMTRAC / NEBOSH / IOSH) – highly advantageous
