Position: HSE Officer – EPC Industry

As part of their commitment to excellence and safety, they are looking to hire experienced HSE Officers for major infrastructure projects in Durban.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure implementation of company and project-specific HSE plans, procedures, and standards across all project phases
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to ensure compliance with local laws and company policies
- Monitor and report on safety KPIs, incidents, near-misses, and unsafe acts/conditions
- Facilitate HSE training, inductions, toolbox talks, and safety drills for all personnel on-site
- Investigate incidents/accidents and assist in the development of corrective and preventive measures
- Coordinate with construction teams and subcontractors to ensure that HSE requirements are consistently met
- Promote a culture of safety awareness and proactive hazard identification
Qualifications & Experience
- National Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related field
- SAMTRAC, NEBOSH IGC, or equivalent HSE certification required
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in an HSE role within the EPC or heavy civil infrastructure industry
- Familiarity with South African health and safety legislation and international standards (e.g., ISO 45001, ISO 14001)
- Proven experience working in a multi-cultural and high-risk construction environment
- Strong communication, report-writing, and team coordination skills
