Our client is seeking an experienced and proactive HR Officer to join their Human Resources. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the full employee lifecycle, ensuring HR compliance, managing employee relations, recruitment coordination, performance management, and HR administration while promoting a positive workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end recruitment and onboarding process.
- Provide support on employee relations matters, including disciplinary hearings, grievances, counselling, and performance management.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and South African labour legislation.
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.
- Coordinate employee contracts, confirmations, transfers, promotions, and terminations.
- Administer leave, absenteeism, and attendance records.
- Support payroll by ensuring all HR information is submitted accurately and timeously.
- Coordinate training and development initiatives and maintain training records.
- Assist with Employment Equity, Skills Development, and HR reporting requirements.
- Ensure compliance with the Labour Relations Act (LRA), Basic Conditions of Employment Act (BCEA), Employment Equity Act (EEA), and Skills Development Act.
- Provide HR guidance and support to managers and employees.
- Participate in HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
Minimum Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Human Resources Management or a related qualification.
- Minimum 3–5 years' experience in a Human Resources Officer role.
- Solid knowledge of South African Labour Legislation.
- Experience handling employee relations, recruitment, performance management, and HR administration.
- Experience within an FMCG, Manufacturing, Logistics, or Industrial environment will be advantageous.
- Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Experience working with HRIS or Payroll systems will be advantageous.
- Valid driver's licence and own reliable transport.
