About the position
A leading manufacturer specialising in plastic packaging requires the above to strategically lead, drive and manage all hr strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy within this manufacturing company.
Minimum requirements for the role:
- A tertiary qualification in human resources or related is essential for the role.
- Previous HR management experience, working within a manufacturing company is essential for the role.
- The successful candidate must have sound knowledge of payroll processes.
- Must have knowledge of sound HR practices, strategy, and technology, policy and process development, business and human resources projects.
- Must have a tested knowledge of South Africa’s labour law, pragmatic application of industrial relations and be able to represent the company at union engagements, CCMA, etc.
- Previous experience in building strong and productive relationships with unions is essential and employee and industrial relations experience having worked with demonstrated success in negotiations with unions is preferred.
- Previous experience having had good IR background with union engagement is preferred.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Leading, driving and managing all HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy within this manufacturing company.
- Providing diagnosis, consultation, guidance, and support in developing and progressing people
- Improving organisational effectiveness through the development and deployment of solutions to enhance leadership, improve productivity, drive a performance culture.
- Overseeing recruitment processes, ensuring productivity and effective performance.
- Driving employee engagement and performance in the organization.
- Overseeing the payroll function to ensure effective and accurate monthly payroll processes.
- Managing employee relations issues, providing guidance on conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and grievance procedures.
- Managing and optimising the hr budget, ensuring all expenditures are in line with the agreed and approved budgets.
- Working closely with the finance department to ensure proper integration of payroll data with financial systems.
- Adhering to service level agreements / standard operating procedures for HR strategic partnership and service.
- Overseeing day-to-day HR activities, ensuring that team members are supported and valued.
