About the position
Love being an HR Generalist? Here's an opportunity where you'll own the full HR function, work closely with leadership and make every day count. Is this you? You're an experienced HR Generalist who enjoys variety and likes having ownership of your work. Rather than specialising in one area of HR, you enjoy being involved across payroll, employee relations, recruitment, compliance and performance management. You're organised, resilient and confident working independently, but equally comfortable building strong relationships across the business. You take initiative, adapt your communication style to different personalities and don't wait for someone to tell you what to do next. What you'll be doing (and why you'll enjoy it) As the sole HR professional, you'll take responsibility for the complete employee lifecycle for just under 50 employees, including payroll, recruitment, performance management, learning and development, employee relations, HR compliance and statutory reporting. You'll prepare board reports, HR dashboards, WSP and ATR submissions, while ensuring policies, processes and payroll run smoothly. This role offers genuine variety, and because you'll report directly to the CEO, your work will have visible impact across the business. Where you'll be doing it You'll be joining a well-established financial services organisation that has successfully evolved its business and now enjoys a close-knit working environment. Although professional standards are high, the culture is refreshingly down-to-earth, with a flat structure, approachable leadership and an open-door approach where collaboration comes naturally. There are other offices but you will be based in Bellville, in office daily with flexible working hour options. What you'll need You'll bring your relevant HR Qualification with at least six years' HR Generalist experience covering payroll, performance management and HR compliance. Experience with WSP and ATR submissions, employment legislation, employee relations and recruitment is essential, together with strong report-writing ability. Exposure to PaySpace or a similar payroll system, solid Excel skills including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs, and the confidence to manage a standalone HR function will set you apart. You're confident but not combative and work well with people including strong personalities. You take initiative, are solutions driven and resilient. What you'll get Along with a basic salary, you'll receive retirement funding, group life cover and possible annual performance incentive. You'll have the autonomy to genuinely own your role.
