About the position

Main (HR) Human Resources Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
  • Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances, or other issues.
  • Manage the recruitment and selection process.
  • Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement, and motivation of employees.
  • Develop and monitor overall HR strategies, systems, tactics and procedures across the Company.
  • Nurture a positive working environment.
  • Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance.
  • Maintain salaries, wages, and benefits program.
  • Assess training needs to apply and monitor training programs.
  • Report to management and provide decision support through HR metrics.
  • Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management.

Main (IR) Industrial Relations Responsibilities:

  • Managing relationships and agreements with the bargaining council, unions & all employees within a manufacturing environment.
  • Handling complaints, managing grievance procedures, and facilitating counselling in conjunction with other stakeholders.
  • Investigating and resolving complex or critical industrial relations issues in a timely and effective manner.
  • Collating and analysing employee feedback across all levels on a regular basis and revising people programs and policies to generate more positive outcomes.
  • Lead and address all disciplinary concerns and hearings.

Key Requirements:

  • Degree in Human Resources or related fields.
  • Good experience in employee relations or industrial relations.
  • Good experience in dealing with unions & bargaining councils.
  • Very good knowledge of HR policies & procedures.
  • In-depth knowledge of employment legislation.
  • Strong problem-solving, negotiation & influencing skills.

Salary negotiable based on qualifications, experience, and knowledge: R 25000.00 per month.
