About the position
A well-established financial services organization is seeking an HR Generalist with a minimum 3 – 5 years’ relevant HR experience
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Undergraduate qualification in Human Resources or Industrial Psychology
- Computer skills - Beginner to intermediate – MS Excel Teams Intermediate MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint Systems
- Working knowledge of at least 1 HR system (essential), SAP Success Factors or similar with position management would be an advantage.
- Working knowledge of electronic document warehouse or filing system is also an advantage.
- 3 - 5 years’ experience in HR and payroll which includes input, SARS, benefits provident, medical must have experience in WSP/ATR
- Payroll processes
- Collect, prepare, check and submit input for approximately 160 employees, liaise with the external payroll provider within deadlines stipulated; implement relevant checks to ensure accuracy of monthly payroll, liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure queries are attended to and payroll requirements are finalized (this includes payment requisitions, payment to employees, salary journals, SARS submissions and other reporting requirements).
Understanding, experience and application of:
- Payroll (relevant reports, SARS requirements), Workplace Skills Planning and Reporting and Skills and/or Employment Equity Committee requirements
- HR record-keeping, the employee life cycle (onboarding, probation, performance and termination processes)
- South African employment law (BCEA, LRA, SDA, EEA, POPIA) in daily HR operations and policies.
- 3 – 5 years’ relevant experience in effectively engaging with and managing internal and external stakeholders
- Effective communication with internal and external stakeholders (written and verbal)
- Understand and apply required confidentiality and discretion as it relates to employee information.
- Demonstrated ability to problem-solve and contribute to team effectiveness
- Understand importance of deadlines and able to initiate and lead projects within required or agreed deadlines; to critically assess and review own work done.
