Our client, is seeking an experienced and confident HR Generalist to take ownership of their human resources function. Based in Johannesburg, this role offers a fantastic opportunity to work closely with leadership, streamline HR processes, and provide hands-on support to a growing team.
You’ll be the go-to person for all things HR, from recruitment and onboarding to performance, compliance, and employee engagement. This is a role for someone who’s ready to bring structure, drive strategy, and make a real difference.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage full recruitment lifecycle and onboarding for new employees.
- Serve as the first point of contact for HR queries, offering guidance and resolving workplace matters.
- Support disciplinary actions and performance management processes.
- Maintain accurate and compliant employee records, contracts, and documentation.
- Assist with benefits administration, payroll support, and HR reporting.
- Drive employee engagement initiatives and contribute to a positive workplace culture.
- Compile reports and submissions including SETA, EE, and other HR metrics.
- Represent the company in CCMA matters when necessary.
- Identify training needs and contribute to skills development strategies.
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
- A degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or a related field is essential.
- 3–5 years of generalist HR experience in a similar role.
- Proficiency in English, IsiZulu/Xhosa, and Setswana/Sesotho is required.
- Strong knowledge of labour law, B-BBEE, employment equity, and HR best practices.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Highly organised with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with HRIS is advantageous.
- SABPP or CHRO certification would be a bonus.
