About the position
Our client in the mining and explosive industry is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to drive and support strategic human resources initiatives across the site. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with line management to deliver HR solutions that align with business goals while ensuring compliance, employee engagement, and operational excellence. This position is based in the Northern Cape. The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
Recruitment, Onboarding & Talent Management
- Lead and coordinate end-to-end recruitment, onboarding, and talent management processes.
- Ensure efficient hiring, smooth integration, and development planning aligned with business needs.
Employee Relations & Compliance
- Provide first-line labour relations support, promote dispute prevention, and ensure compliance with labour legislation and internal policies.
- Guide management on disciplinary procedures and grievance resolution.
Compensation, Benefits & Staff Movements
- Oversee remuneration, benefits, and internal equity processes.
- Manage staff movements such as promotions, transfers, exits, and ensure fair and accurate implementation.
HR Operations & Process Improvement
- Drive efficient HR service delivery by identifying process improvements, ensuring policy compliance, and supporting HR system use and data accuracy.
Employee Engagement & Culture Development
- Promote employee motivation and engagement through formal and informal initiatives.
- Build strong relationships, foster a trusting environment, and support cultural transformation across the business.
HR Analytics & Reporting
- Use HR data and systems to provide insights, track trends, and support informed decision-making.
- Ensure accurate reporting and governance.
Requirements
- B. Degree / B Tech in HR or Behavioural Sciences or equivalent.
- Must have 6-8 years generalist HR experience.
- Proficient level of Talent Management skill.
- Basic understanding of Organisational design.
- Proficient understanding of Change Management.
- Proficient understanding of the HR value chain.
- Basic understanding of the Management Consulting Principles.
- Advanced understanding of HR Information Management.
- Advanced understanding of HR legislation and company policy.
- Proficient level of business understanding and skills.
