About the position
Position Purpose
The Hotel Sales Executive is responsible for driving revenue growth and increasing occupancy across the assigned hotel while supporting broader group sales initiatives.
The role focuses on identifying and securing new business opportunities, managing key client relationships, and achieving monthly and annual sales targets across corporate, MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibitions), government, leisure, and group segments.
The incumbent acts as a brand ambassador, ensuring excellent customer experiences while identifying cross-selling opportunities across affiliated business units.
Key Responsibilities:
- Business Development & Sales Generation
- Proactively identify and secure new business opportunities across targeted market segments.
- Develop and maintain corporate, government, travel agent, and event organiser accounts.
- Achieve agreed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and occupancy targets.
- Conduct prospecting, networking, and lead generation activities.
- Arrange and conduct site inspections, client presentations, and hotel tours.
- Represent the hotel at trade shows, exhibitions, and networking events.
- Identify high-yield accounts and build long-term partnerships.
- Client Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships to encourage repeat business and referrals.
- Respond to enquiries promptly with accurate quotations and proposals.
- Negotiate contracts, rates, and terms aligned with company policies.
- Provide excellent service before, during, and after events or stays.
- Address client concerns professionally and ensure satisfaction.
- Internal Coordination & Sales Administration
- Collaborate with reservations, operations, banqueting, and marketing teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Prepare proposals, contracts, and sales documentation accurately.
- Maintain detailed records of sales activities, pipelines, and client interactions within the CRM system.
- Attend sales meetings, strategy sessions, and performance reviews.
- Ensure compliance with brand standards, policies, and operational procedures.
- Financial Performance & Reporting
- Monitor sales performance against targets and budgets.
- Maximise revenue opportunities across rooms, conferencing, events, and food & beverage outlets.
- Prepare monthly sales reports and forecasts for management.
- Ensure deposits and payments are secured according to agreements.
- Support budgeting and sales planning processes.
- Market Intelligence & Product Knowledge
- Stay informed on market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments.
- Maintain strong knowledge of all hotel facilities, packages, and capacities.
- Identify cross-selling opportunities across business units.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development initiatives.

Minimum Requirements:
Qualifications
- Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent
- Diploma or Degree in Sales, Marketing, Hospitality Management, or related field (preferred)
- Valid driver's license and own reliable vehicle
Experience
- 3-5 years' experience in hotel or hospitality sales
- Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets
- Experience within corporate, government, or group segments advantageous
- CRM system experience preferred
