About the position
A premium retirement lifestyle estate in the Garden Route is opening a new Lifestyle Centre in April 2027 and is looking for a Hospitality Manager to take General Manager-level ownership of its restaurant, coffee bar and on-site catering. The restaurant seats 200, and the catering covers a 30-bed sub-acute hospital and a 60-bed frail care centre. You join before the doors open. The pre-opening work is planning the kitchen, selecting suppliers, developing the menus and recruiting the front-of-house and kitchen teams. Once open, you run the floor daily and you are the person residents, patients and families deal with. The role is based in Hartenbos, Mossel Bay, and accommodation on the estate is available if you are relocating. You will need experience managing a restaurant, hotel, boutique venue or premium hospitality operation, including front-of-house teams. You will also need budget, food costing and menu pricing experience, POS and integrated stock management systems, and a working knowledge of food safety and hygiene legislation. You must be able to work in both Afrikaans and English. R40 000 to R55 000 per month, cost to company, excluding accommodation. Where you sit in the band is negotiable on your skills and working experience.

About The Employer:
A premium retirement lifestyle estate group with a national portfolio. The estate is an established community of around 3 000 homes, with a sub-acute hospital and a frail care centre run on site and a dietician employed in-house.
The Lifestyle Centre is a new build within that established estate. The Hospitality Manager reports to the Unit Manager and works with the dietician where menus need to be nutritionally balanced and clinically appropriate.
