Portfolio Head: Trading Services

(5-Year Fixed-Term Contract | Pretoria | Fair Total Cost to Company Package)

Our client, an established national entity that provides capacity-building, representation, and technical support to all 257 municipalities across the country is seeking a Portfolio Head: Trading Services.

Job Summary:
This executive role offers a rare opportunity to shape the delivery of water, energy, sanitation, broadband, and waste management services at scale.

What you'll be doing:

• As part of the senior team, you'll lead a portfolio responsible for developing and rolling out solution-driven programmes across trading services, championing innovation, supporting municipalities in crisis, and lobbying on key infrastructure policy and regulatory matters.

What you'll need:

• Postgraduate degree in a relevant field (MBA preferred).
• 10+ years at senior leadership level, preferably in the municipal/public infrastructure sector.
• Solid experience leading large, multidisciplinary teams and influencing sectoral policy.
• Proven lobbying, advocacy, and stakeholder management experience.
• High emotional maturity and sound political and business acumen.

Are You the Right Fit?

• Do you hold a relevant postgraduate qualification (e.g. engineering, governance, infrastructure)?
• Have you successfully led large teams and projects in the public or local government sector?
• Do you have a track record in developing or managing trading services strategies (e.g. water, energy)?
• Can you effectively influence stakeholders at national or intergovernmental levels?
• Are you passionate about driving real change in service delivery for communities?
