CORPORATE SERVICES ? INFORMATION SYSTEMS AND TECHNOLOGY
HEAD: TELECOMS FIXED NETWORKS
TCOE SALARY COMMENCING FROM R1 245 505 TO R1 610 444 PER ANNUM ? REF NO: CS 73/25
Requirements:
- A relevant three-year tertiary qualification, preferable a Bachelor's degree / BSc / BTech in Information Systems, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering (light current)
- Minimum eight (8) years' relevant industry experience in IS&T Telecoms Fixed Networks environment in a senior/head role
- Experience in a similar local government municipality will be an advantage.
- Valid driver's licence would be advantageous
Key performance areas:
- Manage; implement and maintain the Telecoms Fixed Networks (LAN, Wi-Fi, LAN infrastructure, Network Peering, Inter-networking and Connectivity Services, Network Security, etc) environment in the City's IT Infrastructure Services environment to meet specific business requirements
- Manage, develop, design, plan, configure, implement system expansions, optimisation, upgrades, replacements and enhancements of Telecoms Fixed Networks (Local Area Network (LAN), Wi-Fi, Wide Area Networking (WAN), LAN infrastructure, Network Peering, Inter-networking and Connectivity, Network Security, etc)
- Manage operational and capital activities including projects
- Coordination installation, commissioning, and maintenance of Telecoms Fixed Networks.
- Responsible for tender/bid, contract and procurement management including drafting reports, process, designs, and specifications
- Develop, implement, review, and refine long-term Telecoms Fixed Networks (LAN, WIFI and WAN, etc) strategies
- Develop and maintain service level agreements (SLAs) for products and services
- Manage the performance of products and services according to Service level agreements
- Manage capital and operating projects through the life cycle
- Ensure implementation and upgrades of new technology
- Manage and lead the development of staff and resource/workforce planning of the team.
- Manage and undertake financial management of the section (capital and operating budget), and ensure utilisation of allocated funds in accordance with MFMA and sound financial principles including asset management
- Define, implement and ensure statutory and corporate compliance in line with relevant acts, policies and procedures to ensure due diligence and risk reduction.
