Organisation: Our client is a leading South African state-owned development finance institution (bank).

Job Summary: We are seeking an exceptional Head: Application Development to lead enterprise-wide application design, development, testing, deployment, BI, and support functions within its technology environment. This is a senior, permanent leadership role based at the organisation's Centurion Head Office.

What You Will Lead.

  • End-to-end application development across SAP and bespoke solutions
  • Business Intelligence strategy, architecture, and delivery
  • Application deployment, testing, patching & maintenance
  • Business process improvements across the enterprise
  • Application architecture, integration & data management
  • Governance, risk, compliance, and ICT quality management
  • Leadership of onshore & offshore development teams
  • Application development budgeting & resource planning

What We're Looking For.

  • Bachelor's Degree in IT/Information Systems/Computer Science (Postgrad preferred)
  • ITIL Foundation (COBIT advantageous)
  • 6-8+ years leading application development & support teams
  • Strong experience in BI environment management
  • Deep knowledge of software engineering, system design, SAP, database principles
  • Proven experience in IT project management
  • Strong people leadership, governance, cyber security & financial control competencies
