About the position

  • The Head for Supply Chain and Asset Risk Management will be responsible for crafting and implementing the Banks / Division's overall supply chain, asset risk management and maintenance management strategies underpinned by an effective operating model linked to the Banks, corporate governance, compliance requirements, policies, and targeted performance metrics. The incumbent must monitor and manage operational and asset risk inherent in the business. The incumbent must ensure that appropriate quality control measures are implemented across the division, whilst complying with relevant legislation and developing and implementing effective Operating and Risk Management models aligned with the Bank's overall Growth and Profitability forecast. Relative to the role, the incumbent is also accountable for developing new opportunities and sustaining valuable relationships with key stakeholders to ensure the divisions continuous expansion and business growth. The incumbent will be responsible for providing direction with regards to trends, asset risk and costing models as may be appropriate to ensure that the Division stays ahead of its competitors in its chosen markets.

Manage costs within areas of responsibility and maximize profit and impact on ROFE

  • Manage departmental costs in line with Budget and Departmental requirements
  • Continuously monitor and manage cost containment activities
  • Review targeted supply arrangements to achieve optimal value for money based on total cost of ownership (price, quality, service, and administration)
  • Managing the procurement budget and maintenance funds and promoting a culture of long-term savings on costs
  • Monitors spend trends and profiles by conducting an environmental analysis
  • Identify suppliers in line with Code of Good Practice and business objectives
  • Maximize Bidvest intercompany spend - Monthly Reporting
  • Ensure pricing components are regulated and scientifically calculated to minimize any risk of losses

    Customer Service
  • Develop and implement Operating Models appropriate to meet Customer requirements and where applicable incorporate SLA stipulations/deliverables
  • Advise internal departments on best practice for all projects/initiatives
  • Build and maintain a long-term relationship with vendors, suppliers, and clients
  • Deliver credible and effective stakeholder relationships
  • Oversee and conduct committee meetings (arrange agenda, distribution packs, follow up on action items)
  • Chair the committee meetings
  • Assist with due diligence reviews.

    Reporting
  • Ensure that all mandatory reporting for Division and Bank is done accurately and timeously

  • Oversee and manage the Bank's own BEE scorecard and ensure appropriate action is taken throughout the year on all elements to retain Bank's current contribution level
  • Prepare and submit MANCO / EXCO Report Pack covering all areas of accountability

  • Develop Strategies and Operational processes to meet Quality Requirements based on Client specifications

  • Ensure SLA and Governance Compliance in all respects
  • Promote BBBEE and Bidvest Group Procurement Spend

  • MMU Call Centre - Ensure that the appropriate technical assistance and support structures are in place to meet the requirements of all Clients [Systems, Processes & People]
  • Set Service and Quality standards in all areas of accountability
  • Develop and implement processes and structures ensuring that the authorization and approval of repairs and maintenance costs are in line with maintenance fund projections and burn rate indicators/KPI's
  • Ensure that there is support structures in place to manage approvals and query resolution - Escalation and Workflow driven process
  • Develop and implement appropriate Vehicle / Asset Technical and Mechanical Inspection projects
  • Clearly define and implement appropriate Predictive, Preventative and Corrective Maintenance Management processes
  • Ensure compliance with Scheduled & Unscheduled Repairs and Maintenance [SLA]
  • Warranty Management in line with OEM parameters [SLA]
  • Develop, implement, and manage Maintenance Fund Burn Rate Models and revise accordingly

    Asset Risk Management (Costing, Pricing, Asset risk)
  • Ensure that the divisions asset risk management models are appropriate, accurate and incorporate current market trends within the Banks risk appetite threshold
  • Manage and Update Systems [RV & Maintenance cpk Tables]
  • Serve as member of Asset Risk Committee
  • Provide insights on asset selection, procurement, and asset management protocols, linked to Client requirements
  • Continuously seek and recommend innovative and effective asset classes to enhance business growth and ensure that the appropriate asset risk principles, processes, and pricing considerations are modelled and implemented
  • Conduct Environmental Analysis, CO2 Emissions, Electrical Vehicles, etc., to ensure that the Division can Price and Manage inherent risk
  • Conduct Market Research and Business Development - Enhance Value Proposition and mitigate risk for the Bank
  • Develop and implement Pricing / Costing inputs and models in system - Residual Value and Maintenance structured Tables
  • Develop Automated Quotations functionality based on costing inputs
  • Calculate and automate models to compute the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)
    o Capital, Residual Value, Depreciation, Maintenance, Tyres, Fuel Costs, Insurance, etc
