About the position
Introduction
Manages media relations and external communications to enhance brand reputation, drive PR strategy, and support executive communication and crisis response. Managing events, creators, influencers and ESOV related activities for the brand and customer events.
Duties & Responsibilities
Develop and implement the company PR strategy to create ESOV for Pick n Pay, be the go-to for the media for Retail PR with the customer as the primary audience
Manage media relations and build positive media coverage
Coordinate with legal and leadership on crisis responses
Align public messaging with brand values and initiatives
Support executive communication and brand storytelling
Work with Integrated Leaders and help with the PR briefs in the customer events/ Retail PR Sections of Customer Events Briefs and Brand
Be the sounding board for all work to ensure we hit the right notes culturally and with the public. Check all work for relevance
Manage influencers and creators
Manage Pick n Pay PR partners
Desired Experience & Qualification
Minimum requirements
BCOM Public Relations/ Communications/Journalism/ Marketing or BA English
5+ years' experience in PR or communications, preferably in retail/FMCG
