About the position

Head: Research & Innovation (listed and unlisted investments) - Pretoria
Closing Date: 27 March 2023

Purpose of the role:
The position's primary role is to support the process of researching, defining, prioritizing and executing new strategic initiatives. Lead and develop forward-looking macro and sector research to support listed and unlisted investments and generate investment ideas and strategies that can be implemented on the clients' portfolios. Drive innovative research and thinking that will give the organisation a competitive advantage over its peers. Lead and oversee the early-stage fund with the aim of growing new black enterprises in the SA economy.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Master's degree in economics/Investments/Mathematics/Statistics/Finance, or MBA/CFA
  • 10 to 15 years relevant experience of which at least 5 years must be within the senior management role
  • Experience in macroeconomics, financial markets, sector analysis (various sectors) and investment strategy formulation
  • Experience in translating research to implementable investment ideas on different asset classes.
  • Understanding and knowledge of the venture capital market will be an advantage
