About the position

Head of Retail/FMCG
Head of Retail/FMCG

Job Functions:

  • Promote awareness of The Company in the market.
  • Business Development Identify and target new business opportunities within the Retail/FMCG sector.
  • Responsible for achieving sales targets through lead generation, prospecting, client meetings, proposals, estimates, presentations, etc.
  • Identify and target sales opportunities at low, medium, and high levels.
  • Formulate strategy to successfully win new business and increase market share.
  • Open new business accounts according to the applicable procedure.
  • Create and implement SOPs, SLAs, and other related documents.
  • Provide weekly and monthly reporting as required, both internally and to clients.
  • Conduct regular meetings for new business development or servicing existing clients.
  • Manage Concerto (CRM) according to applicable requirements.
  • Negotiate rates with suppliers where required to procure the best rate for specific client requirements.
  • Handle queries (operational, financial, or other).
  • Engage in client entertainment.
  • Create awareness and understanding of industry vertical information, requirements, and general knowledge.
  • Stay abreast of industry changes, information, and skill requirements.
  • Perform any other delegated tasks deemed reasonable as assigned by the reporting manager.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Matric essential.
  • Previous Clearing & Forwarding sales experience required.
  • Minimum of 3 years proven sales track record.
  • Previous formal sales training required.
  • Strong understanding of the Retail/FMCG sector and its unique logistics needs.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Well-presented, professional individual with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
