About the position
The Head of Marketing, will report into the Managing Director directly and manage a large team, developing new brands for the company to launch into existing and new retailers.

Description
The Head Of Marketing will be responsible for the following:
- Develop new brands for the company to launch into existing and / or new retailers, looking at opportunities within the market that we can fulfil. Development to include concept creation, product line up / mix, pricing strategy, product formulations, key claims, packaging, sustainability focus etc
- Oversee the development of all new Innovations across all the brands as well as ongoing maintenance of existing product portfolio
- Monitor, analyse and evaluate market trends, consumer behaviour and competitor activity to identify market opportunities, adjust marketing strategy and plans to meet changing markets and competitive conditions
- Input into strategic business objectives and development of short- and long-term strategic brand and marketing plans with a clear vision of how to help meet these objectives
- Lead, direct and control marketing policies, programmes and activities to meet business objectives and protect the organisation's reputation
- Develop the annual Marketing budget (including ATL & BTL), distributing as required across the multiple brands based on strategic focus areas for each brand. Ability to maximise return on spend
- Liaise with other departments across the organisation to ensure marketing strategies and activities are integrated with other parts of the business and align with the overall business objectives
- Manage 5 direct reports and mentor, guide and nurture a team of around 25 employees, developing them to meet established goals and objectives for each of them with bi-annual performance reviews
- Overall management of the Brand's reputation and consumer helplines / social media community response management
- Oversee and sign off of all Brand Social pages to ensure content aligns with overall strategic objectives of the brands
- Manage the Trademark portfolio for all brands, local and International
- Interact with retailers on key strategic discussions regarding new brand launches / existing brand strategy direction etc
- Launch existing brands into new markets, both bricks and mortar as well as e-commerce
Profile
The incumbent needs to have the following:
- Bachelor Degree in Marketing, business management or related business discipline
- Strong people management skills with at least 8 to 10 years solid marketing management experience of a team of 10 or more people
- At least 15 year's experience of working in an FMCG business, preferably on Personal Care products and with market leading brands
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with different stakeholders
- Resourceful and results driven, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proven track record of developing and launching new brands
- Experience with direct or indirect involvement in product development activities in consumer-packaged goods
- Experience with working with major Retailers in South Africa would be an advantage
- Quick thinking and dynamic and enjoys working under pressure, able to easily adjust to working on different tasks in a short space of time
- High attention to detail to stay close to the management of the large portfolio
- Comfortable with continuously adapting to change in line with the fast-growing company
