About the position
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a commercially astute, hands-on Head of Finance with strong operational expertise and a proven track record within a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with CFO and Executive leadership on strategic decisions, capital investments, acquisitions and business performance
- Supporting the CFO with operational and strategic matters
- Lead the finance transformation, improving finance automation and digital processes
- Drive financial performance and processes through improved controls, reporting and commercial insight
- Strengthen product costing, inventory management and operational finance
- Managing financial controls, production, yield, waste and costing variances, budgeting and forecasting as well as finance process improvement
- Lead major projects and finance modernisation initiatives
- Working with engineering, procurement and supply chain, CAPEX evaluation and capital approval processes
- Managing risk, audit and stakeholder requirements
- Supporting designated finance teams
- Developing team and strengthening succession within finance
Requirements:
- CIMA of CA(SA) qualification
- Experience in manufacturing, product costing and stock management (essential)
- At least 10 years' experience in a senior finance leadership role with Exco-level exposure
- Experience in process improvement, managing financial controls and operational finance
- Exposure to AI-driven finance initiatives
- CAPEX evaluation an capital approval experience
- Knowledge of South African Tax, regulatory and governance requirements
- Experience in the manufacturing inustry is essential
