Our client is a highly successful international software development house specialising in telecommunications software, payment gateways and SAAS. You will be inheriting a highly accomplished team who have been with the organisation for many years which will free you up to focus on the more strategic aspects of the position. This organisation has a very flat structure, this position is part of Exco and you will be actively involved in steering the company's growth.
What you will be doing:
- Develop and implement financial strategies and oversee budget preparation, forecasting to align with company goals.
- Generate timely and accurate financial reports and analysis to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
- Manage cash flow and oversee financial systems and software to ensure liquidity and optimal cash utilisation.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and tax laws.
- Establish and maintain internal controls to protect assets and data integrity.
- Lead financial planning, including capital allocation, investments, and resource distribution.
- Coordinate audits and address findings.
- Lead, mentor and foster professional development within the finance team.
- Collaborate with other departments to support strategic initiatives and enhance financial performance.
- Communicate financial performance and strategy to stakeholders.
- Manage relationships with banks and financial institutions.
- Implement cost control measures and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Drive continuous improvement in finance processes, systems, and practices.
- Provide strategic leadership and vision for the finance function.
- Stay informed about industry trends.
What our client is looking for:
- CA(SA) or equivalent with currency hedging and multi-currency bank account management experience
- Corporate governance, business risk management, and IT and ERP systems knowledge
- Excellent communication, negotiation, coaching, and facilitation skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team; self-motivated and self-managed with initiative
- Logical and balanced approach, even under pressure, with attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Strategic thinking, day-to-day operations management, project and change management skills
- Analytical thinking, creativity, innovation, and solutions-oriented, even under pressure
- Multi-tasking and simultaneous project management
