Head of Department: Outsourced Accounting at MSP

About the position

An established accounting practice is looking for an experienced Head of Department: Outsourced Accounting to lead its accounting team and oversee the delivery of high-quality accounting, financial reporting and management accounting services to clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, manage and develop the outsourced accounting team.
• Review monthly accounting files, transactions and management accounts to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Oversee the preparation and timely delivery of annual financial statements.
• Meet with clients to discuss financial performance, management accounts and business trends.
• Manage client queries and maintain strong client relationships.
• Monitor client profitability and financial performance for provisional tax purposes.

Minimum Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years' post-article experience (SAICA) in a financial reporting environment.
• Strong experience in preparing and reviewing management accounts and annual financial statements.
• Proven experience managing, reviewing and developing accounting teams.
• Strong technical accounting and financial reporting knowledge.
• Practical experience with Pastel Partner, QuickBooks and Xero is essential.
• Excellent communication, leadership and client relationship management skills.
