About the position
Reporting to: Chief Operating Officer (COO)
Location: Johannesburg or Durban
Salary up to 1,5 mil per annum depending on qualifications and experience
Essentials for the role
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, or a related field (MBA advantageous).
- Minimum 8-10 years of business development experience in logistics, clearing, and forwarding industries specialising in mining and [URL Removed] WHO ARE NOT FROM THIS INDUSTRY WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED
- Proven track record of securing large-scale contracts and growing key accounts.
- Strong network and industry relationships within regional and international logistics markets specialising in mining and minerals .
- Experience with pricing, tender processes, and client negotiations.
- Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing teams.
Objectives of this Role
- Lead and implement business development strategies that contribute to sustainable revenue growth.
- Identify new market segments and expand the company's footprint across target geographies.
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline of high-value prospects across all service offerings.
- Strengthen the company's brand presence and relationships with key stakeholders and partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute business development plans in alignment with the company's strategic objectives.
- Lead market research efforts to identify potential clients, sectors, and trends.
- Oversee the end-to-end sales cycle including client engagement, proposals, presentations, and contract negotiations.
- Represent company at trade shows, networking events, and client briefings.
- Manage and mentor a high-performing business development and sales team.
