About the position
The Head of Asset Management is responsible for developing and implementing asset management strategies, policies, and systems that align with organizational objectives.
1. Strategic Leadership
- Develop and lead the organization’s asset management strategy.
- Align asset management plans with business goals and regulatory frameworks.
- Lead lifecycle planning (acquisition, operation, maintenance, and disposal).
- Promote a culture of proactive asset care.
- Team scheduling and resource planning.
- Service level agreements (SLAs) in relation to contracted services, ensuring the SLAs are achieved.
- Manage technicians and action teams to site, providing guidance, testing, engineering, and contractually.
2. Engineering Integration
- Apply engineering principles (mechanical, civil, electrical, etc.) to evaluate and improve asset performance.
- Ensure engineering standards are integrated into asset management systems and maintained.
- Lead root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives for failures or underperformance.
- Manage technicians and action teams to site, providing guidance on testing, engineering, cleaning, and contractually.
3. Asset Lifecycle Management
- Define processes for asset acquisition, maintenance, inspection, and decommissioning.
- Oversee asset condition monitoring and health assessment.
- Ensure capital investment decisions are informed by lifecycle cost analysis.
4. Risk and Compliance
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and industry regulations.
- Develop risk-based maintenance and replacement strategies.
5. Data and Technology
- Champion the use of Asset Management Systems (Internal Company Systems – CRM).
- Utilize data analytics, IoT, and predictive maintenance tools.
- Oversee asset data governance and ensure accuracy for decision-making.
6. Team and Stakeholder Leadership
- Lead and mentor multidisciplinary engineering and asset management teams.
- Collaborate with finance, operations, IT, and other departments.
- Report to executive leadership on asset performance and strategic initiatives.
- Responsible for all existing sites daily monitoring.
- Responsible for all existing site daily operations.
- Responsible for all existing site monthly reports.
7. Education
- Bachelor’s (Electrical, Civil, Project Management).
- Additional qualifications in Asset Management beneficial.
8. Experience
- 5+ years in asset management, engineering, or operations leadership.
- Proven track record in strategic planning and lifecycle asset management.
9. Skills
- Strong knowledge of engineering principles, maintenance, and reliability.
- Proficiency in asset management systems and tools.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
