We are looking for a Head: Learning and Organisational Development to join our financial services client based in Sandton for a 12-months contract role.
We are looking for an accomplished and visionary leader to take on the role of Head: Learning and Organisational Development, driving two key strategic projects focused on building an integrated learning framework and solutions across a multi-cluster commercial and retail banking environment. This role will play a pivotal part in shaping future capabilities with a particular focus on Risk Management, Audit, ESG, Sustainable Development Goals, and Sustainable Finance.
What you will be doing:
- Lead the finalisation and rollout of a comprehensive Learning Framework targeting core and strategic skills across diverse business clusters.
- Structure and mobilise subject matter expert (SME) teams to support the design of tools, skills, and application-based learning.
- Conduct a thorough review and validation of existing learning offerings and vendor insights.
- Perform external benchmarking and environmental scanning to evaluate potential solutions.
- Align learning solutions to business needs and propose fit-for-purpose delivery models with associated costing.
- Develop, scale, or source high-impact learning programmes tailored to priority audiences.
- Drive the successful adoption and integration of learning Academies across the organisation.
- Consolidate and integrate existing programmes to build a cohesive learning ecosystem.
- Track programme performance and ensure alignment with business case metrics.
- Cultivate strong stakeholder relationships and influence strategic decision-making at senior levels.
What we are looking for:
- A postgraduate qualification in Learning and Development, Organisational Development, Human Resources, or a related discipline.
- 8 years' experience as a Head: Learning and Organisational Development
- Proven experience in leading complex, large-scale learning and capability development initiatives, preferably within financial services or banking.
- Deep understanding of Risk Management, Audit, ESG, SDGs, and Sustainable Finance.
- Demonstrated ability to engage, influence, and collaborate with senior leadership and diverse stakeholders.
Technical Expertise:
- In-depth knowledge of contemporary learning methodologies, tools, and best practices.
- Strong analytical skills to assess, validate, and optimise learning solutions and vendor recommendations.
- Sound experience in delivery model design, programme costing, and project management.
- Familiarity with integrating learning programmes and managing learning academies.
