About the position
A prestigious 5-star Hotel located on an internationally acclaimed Wine Estate is seeking a reliable, detail-driven, and proactive Head Houseman to lead our housekeeping support operations. As the backbone of our guest experience, the Head Houseman plays a crucial role in maintaining the high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and service that define our luxury offering.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate all houseman duties including room setup, public area maintenance, linen distribution, and guest request fulfilment.
- Lead, train, and supervise a small team of housemen, ensuring efficiency, professionalism, and adherence to 5-star standards.
- Work closely with the Housekeeping Manager and Room Attendants to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Ensure all back-of-house areas are clean, organized, and operating efficiently.
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of events, meetings, and VIP room arrangements.
- Maintain housekeeping equipment and report maintenance issues promptly.
- Support guest services discreetly and effectively, delivering a seamless experience.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a housekeeping or hotel operations role, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or team leader position.
- Experience in a 4 or 5-star hotel environment essential.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Hands-on, proactive, and service-oriented approach.
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
- Excellent communication skills and a professional appearance.
- Physical stamina and attention to detail.
