Job Title: Head Finance Operations
Reporting to: Chief Financial Officer
Experience: A minimum of 10 years' previous experience in a managerial role within a similar environment is essential. Previous experience with commissions, payroll, and sales operations is required. Working knowledge of FAIS, FICA, South African Labour, and Tax Legislation is necessary.
Qualifications:
- Grade 12 (Essential)
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification in commerce (Desirable)
- Post Graduate Degree (Advantageous)
Key Purpose:
The Head Finance Operations role is pivotal in leading the sales credit risk, payroll/payments, commission & remuneration operational support, and intermediary conduct teams.
Stakeholder Management:
- Build and maintain robust relationships with stakeholders across Product Houses, Channels, Finance, etc.
- Drive efforts towards enhancing service levels and ensuring fair treatment within the scope of responsibility.
- Manage the company's commission month-end close off procedures in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Foster partnerships with relevant stakeholders to grasp business priorities and requirements effectively.
Internal Process:
- Lead the management team to achieve departmental key performance areas.
- Contribute to strategic planning and the implementation of initiatives
- Spearhead business optimization endeavors for cost-effective operations, heightened efficiency, waste reduction, and process strengthening.
- Drive digital transformation initiatives.
- Provide information and insights pertinent to the functional areas.
- Enable and implement effective risk management strategies.
Finance:
- Prepare and oversee the budget for the area, including expenditure authorization.
- Implement and monitor internal financial controls, providing feedback accordingly.
- Identify opportunities for enhancing cost-effectiveness and operational efficiency.
