About the position

SENTECH is looking for Head Enterprise Risk and Compliance to develop and implement comprehensive risk management and compliance programmes to safeguard SENTECHs assets, reputation and regulatory adherence. The incumbent will lead the identification, assessment and mitigation of risks, while ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards. This role plays a pivotal part in safeguarding SENTECHs reputation and long-term success.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Qualifications:

  • Honor's degree in Financial Management, Law or equivalent.
  • Professional certifications in Risk Management or Compliance.

Experience:

  • 8 years experience in Risk Management, Compliance, or related role.
  • 5 years experience operating at a Middle management level.
  • Experience within the telecommunications industry or similar industry will be an added advantage.
  • Experience in determining the risk appetite and tolerance levels for an organisation.
  • Experience in systems and tools enabling the facilitation of risk communication and reporting.

Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of South African telecommunications regulatory frameworks and industry standards.
  • Understanding of Risk Management Policies, Compliance Policies, Risk and Compliance Frameworks and Strategy.
  • Understanding of fraud response approaches, communication strategies and whistle-blowing procedures and policies.
  • Understanding of the Business Continuity Management policies and procedures.
  • Ability to provide advisory support to business in terms of risk and compliance.
  • Knowledge of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA).
  • Understanding of Supply Chain Prescripts.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

  • Develop and drive the implementation of the Enterprise Risk and Compliance strategy and plans.
  • Ensure strategy and vision is articulated at all levels in the enterprise risk and compliance department.
  • Manage SENTECHs enterprise risk management framework.
  • Drive the implementation of risk mitigation strategies and action plans.
  • Manage SENTECH's compliance with all relevant telecommunications regulations, laws, and industry standards.
  • Stay up to date with changes in regulatory requirements and manage the updates required in compliance programs, plans and strategies accordingly.
  • Manage and maintain compliance policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Collaborate with Legal and Regulatory and Human Resource departments as necessary in conducting investigations and implementing corrective actions.
  • Drive a culture of ethics and integrity throughout the organisation.
  • Oversee the whistleblowing and ethics reporting mechanism.
  • Collaborate and partner with key stakeholders in SENTECH to ensure the adoption of Enterprise Risk and Compliance plans and policies throughout the organisation.
  • Identify, build, and nurture trust and collaborative relationships with key partners, internal and external stakeholders, customers, and suppliers.
  • Provide effective leadership to the Enterprise Risk and Compliance department and build long term relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Oversee the process of people management and performance management of the Enterprise Risk and Compliance team.
