About the position

Key Objectives

  • Develop and drive a dynamic and innovative commercialisation vision with a strong focus on short, medium, and long-term income-generating strategies for tourism business development.
  • Implement and monitor the strategic plan for commercialisation in line with National Treasury requirements.
  • Advise and negotiate on key commercial terms including valuation and deal structure for tourism PPP transactions.
  • Ensure that all agreements reached are financially, commercially, and legally sound.
  • Ensure sound financial, technical, and legal management of all PPP transactions.
  • Manage and retain solid internal and external stakeholder relationships at the strategic level.
  • Provide leadership, development, and management of human capital.
  • Maintain SANParks leadership in the tourism PPPs environment.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Be in possession of a Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Corporate Finance Business Administration, or related fields.
  • The Master's Degree is desirable in Commerce, Corporate Finance, Business Administration, or related fields.
  • Must have 10 - 12 years of general management experience, a minimum of 5 years should be in a senior management role.
  • 5 years of senior management experience in a commercial deal structuring environment either in the private or public sector.
  • 5 years' experience in business feasibility analysis.
  • 2 years experience in commercial contract management and legal environment.
  • A sound knowledge of Investment/deal structuring and evaluation.
  • A good understanding of capital funding.
  • Knowledge of strategic planning.
  • Leadership skills.
  • Ability to function in a matrix environment.
  • Communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Financial management skills.
  • Conflict management skills.
  • Diversity management/change management skills.
  • Project management.
  • Understanding of tourism and conservation industry.
