HCV National Broker Consultant

Position Overview
 
An opportunity has become available within a well-established company for an experienced and reliable HCV National Broker Consultant to join the team. The role objectives are to develop and maintain effective business relationships with brokers, in order to attract and develop profitable HCV and GIT business.
Duties and Responsibilities

1. Sales and Marketing:

• Obtain new business from brokers and develop relationships with existing and new brokers.
• Manage the growth (including organic growth) of the division.
• Sell HCV & GIT products to brokers and/or agents using consultative selling techniques.
• Contribute to effective marketing of the Company products by answering questions, resolve problems on topics such as policy status, billing, etc, and explaining new or revised products and processes.
• Make presentations & do Product specific training to brokers and/or agents.

2. Account Management:

• Meet goals for volume and value of quality new business quoted and written within company guidelines.
• Management of own portfolio. Recommend or implement changes to improve productivity, profitability, growth and the quality of assigned book of business.
• Service, grow and maintain renewal policies along side underwriting team.
• Confirm rating and cover on endorsements requested where required.
• Review segment profit/growth results and trends to recommend and implement action plans to produce profitable underwriting results.
• Ensure that all premiums are received and up to date on all accounts in your portfolio. Work closely with Accounts & underwriting team on and RD’s monthly.

 
3. Underwriting/Risk Analysis:

• Analyse qualitative and quantitative data prepared by brokers to provide approval for risk selection and acceptance, coverage and price & process quotations to brokers.
• Decline unsuitable risks.
• Ensure that new quotation requests are issued / changed accurately per broker request in a timely manner per internal SLA

 
Requirements

• At least 5/7 years’ HCV and GIT insurance experience within a UMA or insurance company environment.
• Self-management skills
• Good communication skills (including writing and presentation skills)
• Negotiation skills (internal & external)
• Sales and marketing skills
• Relationship management skills
• Analysis and interpretation of data pertaining to assigned portfolios and market conditions
• Ability to travel nationwide – including staying overnight when required to do so
• Willingness to entertain brokers
• Must have valid driver’s license

 
Educational Requirements

• Matric
• RE 5 and/or RE 1 preferred
• NQF 4 or similar insurance qualification
