About the position
A global market leader for fresh strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and blackberries requires the above to strengthen grower engagement, improve visibility across production cycles, and support the sustainable expansion of their grower base in the Zimbabwean region.
Minimum requirements for the role:
- A degree in Agriculture or a related field is preferred but not essential.
- Previous experience having called on Growers or related markets within the Agricultural industry in Zimbabwe is essential for the role.
- Previous experience having worked within the horticulture and related markets is preferred.
- The successful candidate should have a strong network of customers within the Zimbabwean agricultural sector that they have worked with.
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to work cross-functionally as well as the ability to build long-term relationships.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Strengthening grower engagement, improving visibility across production cycles, and supporting the sustainable expansion of our grower base in fresh strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and blackberries within the Zimbabwean region.
- Building strong relationships with Growers, identifying new opportunities, and ensuring alignment between production, quality, and market needs through a hands-on, field-based approach.
- Identifying and developing new grower partnerships within Zimbabwe by leveraging off the successful candidate's local network to source and assess opportunities.
- Evaluating technical capabilities, infrastructure, and business alignment spending significant time in the field, understanding crop progress and challenges and providing timely updates on yield expectations, quality, and risks.
- Proactively identifying issues and supporting practical solutions by collaborating closely with supply chains and commercial teams.
- Supporting growers in meeting production and quality standards while driving improvements in post-harvest handling and export readiness, as well as aligning grower output with packaging plans and market requirements.
- Supporting alignment between grower supply and commercial demand and assisting with issue resolution during peak export periods.
- Contributing to projects focused on efficiency, innovation, and sustainability as well as working closely with agronomy, quality control, and operations teams.
