Westfalia Fruit, has a permanent vacancy in Southern Tanzania for a suitably qualified and experiencedGrower Liaison Officer.

Purpose of the role:
This role will provide technical assistance to growers as well as aligning small holder growers and commercial farmers to Westfalia, with a focus on packing to the required standard and gathering market intelligence.
KeyResponsibilities:
- Gather grower harvest estimates for the season
- Coordinate supply from small holder communities and commercial avocado farmers
- Manage the collection and sending of maturity samples and coordinate harvesting based on maturity results
- Ensure accreditation requirements are adhered to, and certifications are on file
- Ensure packing standards are adhered to by frequent visits to growers and packhouses
- Proactively drive continuous improvement in the quality of our avocados that are delivered to our customers
Minimum Requirements:
Education:
- (BSc Agriculture/Horticulture) or any suitable agricultural qualification
Experience:
- +3 yrs agronomic field experience in the horticultural industry
- Fully computer literate MS Office
Behavioral Competencies:
- Basic understanding of agricultural principles of fresh produce
- Horticultural / Agricultural knowledge of avocados
- Understanding and appreciation of food safety and accreditation requirements
- Good communication and relationship skills

- Excel, Word, PowerPoint proficiency
