Job Title: Group Travel Consultant

A leading luxury travel company is seeking a highly organised and service-driven Groups Travel Consultant to join their Cape Town-based team in Pinelands. This role plays a vital part in the planning and seamless delivery of tailor-made land tours and group experiences across Southern and East Africa.

Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage land-based tour programmes, events, and group travel experiences
- Support the preparation and administration of travel files, ensuring accuracy and compliance at all times
- Travel with groups as required, providing on-site support and coordination
- Collaborate with Reservations and Operations Managers to ensure commercial viability of travel files and alignment with company standards
- Maintain excellent relationships with suppliers and ensure service level agreements are upheld
- Assist the finance team by monitoring payments, supporting collections, and flagging potential risks
- Ensure all confirmed travel services are accurately documented and kept up to date
- Prepare travel documentation and operating schedules, ensuring timely delivery
- Stay informed of country-specific travel restrictions and ensure group compliance
- Proactively contribute ideas to improve guest experience, operations, and customer service
- Handle complaints professionally and ensure they are resolved in a timely and appropriate manner
- Remain available for emergency situations and liaise directly with clients and management when necessary
- Support management with special projects and additional operational duties as assigned
Requirements and Experience:
- A minimum of four to five years of inbound tour consulting experience is essential
- Comprehensive knowledge of the tourism industry, including destination management, travel industry channels, and current travel trends
- A strong understanding of South Africa, as well as Southern and East African destinations
- Experience with crisis management procedures and emergency response protocols
- Familiarity with financial management, including budgeting and margin monitoring
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Word, and travel systems such as Tourplan and WETU (preferred)
