About the position

Our client, a custom software development/digital supply chain business, currently seeks to appoint a Group Financial Manager to join their growing company based in Sandton, Johannesburg. Reporting into the CEO, you will lead a finance team to fulfil management accounting, taxation and annual financial statements to name a few. This role has a forecasted growth plan to becoming the CFO within the business, based on performance and company growth.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Chartered Accountant or similar qualification, eg CIMA/ BCompt
  • Alternatively, Finance degree with MBA
  • At least 3 years' experience in a Financial Manager position
  • More than 10 years post-qualification experience in the Mining, IT, Supply Chain or Logistics
  • Must have experience leading a finance team (direct reports)
  • Experience in managing budgets and financial reporting

Main duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead a team of 6 to provide the financial function to Group Companies, including Accounting, Management Accounts, Tax, and AFS
  • Ensure BEE and EE compliance, supported by external consultants (LaborNet)
  • Oversee the HR function, supported by two administrators for clerical work and LaborNet for outsourced issues (in particular CCMA and EE issues)
  • Responsible for 4 support staff in the Johannesburg and Cape Town office (cleaners, reception, secretaries)
  • Advise the CEO and C-Suite on company financial health, risk and capital allocation decisions.
