Our established client in Sandton is seeking a seasoned Group Finance General Manager / Group Financial Manager to join their dynamic, global trading team. This hands-on role requires strong finance and accounting expertise, along with solid interpersonal skills.
The successful incumbent must be highly organised, deadline-driven, and able to engage effectively with local and international stakeholders.
Minimum Requirements:
- Accounting Qualification (preferably a professional qualification: CA(SA), CPA, ACA or equivalent.
- In-depth experience with Treasury and Risk Management.
- 5+ Years of proven experience in a financial accounting role in a commercially orientated business.
- Deep knowledge of financial accounting, management accounting, and relevant Acts, Regulations, and professional practices.
- Excellent, communication, and interpersonal skills; team first mindset with uncompromising ethics.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint; proven ability to handle confidential information.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implementing changes and maintaining the planning and consolidation system.
- Preparing the planning system, managing the group budget/forecast process, consolidating the group budget/forecast, and preparing reports.
- Backup support for preparing budgets and forecasts for the holding company.
- Ensuring compliance with accounting policies and procedures and implementing changes as needed.
- Backup support for maintaining the general ledger for the holding company, including accruals, intercompany admin fees, intercompany interest charges, and taxation.
- Backup support for preparing and distributing group management accounts and liaising with hubs regarding variances.
- Preparing and distributing various weekly financial reports.
- Support in managing the month-end process, consolidating results, and preparing Flashes, including commentary.
- Year-end close; Preparing the year-end audit timetable and liaising with group auditors. Support in managing the Group year-end process (incl. ledger closure and carry forward of results).
- Preparing year-end financial statements and liaising with auditors on the audit of the financial statements.
- Preparing reporting pack schedules for board and committee meetings as requested.
- Preparing ad hoc projects and information for the CEO/CFO as requested.
- Create & maintain customer and vendor accounts in ERP system.
- Create & maintain master data for general ledger accounts and profit/cost centres.
- Liaising with the IT team on other changes being implemented in ERP system.
- Key involvement in ERP system implementations and upgrades.
- Maintaining and rolling forward transfer pricing (TP) reports and documentation, managing the implementation of TP automation software, and maintaining the system.
- Creating and updating ESG policies and procedures, preparing Carbon Chain upload files, analysing results, and reporting.
