GROUP FINANCE OFFICER to be based in Cape Town Northern Suburbs


Mint Kulca is proud to be advertising this exciting opportunity on behalf of our holding company, The People Matter Group.
 

We are looking for a skilled and proactive GROUP FINANCE OFFICER to take full ownership of the finance function across our group of companies.

This pivotal role will support six entities within the group, including four active businesses, one with moderate activity, and one with minimal operations. As the sole finance resource, you’ll manage everything from day-to-day financial processing to consolidated reporting, statutory compliance, and strategic financial analysis.

You’ll work closely with directors and business unit leaders to bring financial clarity and insight to each arm of the group, helping drive informed decisions, sustainable growth, and long-term profitability.

THE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ROLE ARE: 




Required:
- Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or Finance
- 5+ years full-spectrum bookkeeping/accounting experience, across multiple entities
- Experience preparing consolidated management accounts and working with external auditors
- Excellent understanding of South African tax and compliance regulations

Beneficial:

- Completion of SAICA or SAIPA articles







DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:



  • Full-Function Bookkeeping- Process all income, expenses, payroll, and reconciliations up to trial balance- Maintain general ledgers across all group entities- Manage debtors and creditors, including collections and supplier payments- Handle VAT, PAYE, UIF, and EMP201/501 submissions
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis- Prepare monthly management reports per entity and for the consolidated group- Compile annual financial statements in line with accounting standards- Deliver cash flow reports, forecasts, and variance analysis- Support strategic decisions through financial insights and scenario modelling
  • Compliance & Audit- Ensure compliance with SARS and other statutory requirements- Act as the primary contact for external auditors, accountants, and tax advisors- Maintain accurate records and documentation for audit readiness
  • Budgeting & Planning- Lead annual budgeting across all entities- Monitor budget variances and support corrective planning- Assist in business planning, growth strategy, and financial forecasting
  • Systems & Process Management- Manage accounting and payroll systems (e.g., Sage, Xero, QuickBooks)- Establish and maintain efficient financial processes and internal controls- Continuously identify opportunities for process improvement
  • Business Partnering- Collaborate with business unit managers to clarify the financial drivers of their units- Equip leaders with financial insights to support growth, sustainability, and profitability
