About the position

Job purpose:

The Group Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing the financial accounting, reporting, and control functions across the company's global operations. The individual will ensure that the company's financial statements are accurate, compliant with relevant accounting standards, and produced in a timely manner. This role involves managing financial processes, controlling internal financial operations, and providing leadership to the finance team to ensure financial integrity and accountability within the company.

Key Performance Areas

Financial Reporting and Compliance:

  • Lead the preparation and consolidation of monthly management accounts and annual financial statements for the company's global operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with IFRS, GAAP, and other relevant financial reporting standards.
  • This includes preparation of the Group Consolidation
  • Coordinate the preparation of tax filings and manage compliance with local and international tax regulations.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial results to senior management and external stakeholders, including auditors, investors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Preparation of monthly and quarterly Shareholders report
  • Preparation of weekly and monthly liquidity report
  • Design and implement necessary key performance indicators and dashboards to effectively track performance of all the Business Units

Internal Controls and Audit Management

  • Design, implement, and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard the company's assets and ensure compliance with financial reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate and oversee external audits, addressing any issues or concerns raised by auditors.
  • Perform internal audits and review financial processes to identify areas for improvement or risk.

Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A):

  • Manage the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads to ensure financial targets are aligned with the company's strategic goals.
  • Oversee the preparation of financial forecasts and provide variance analysis to identify potential financial risks or opportunities.
  • Provide management with key financial insights and analysis to support operational and strategic decision-making.

Cash Flow and Treasury Management:

  • Oversee the company's cash management processes, ensuring adequate liquidity for operations while optimizing working capital.
  • Monitor cash flows, bank accounts, and debt covenants to ensure financial stability.
  • Manage and optimize cash reserves and debt structures, in collaboration with senior management

Financial Systems and Processes:

  • Oversee the effective use of financial management software and ERP systems to ensure streamlined financial reporting, analysis, and compliance.
  • Lead the optimization of accounting and financial systems to improve efficiency, accuracy, and financial reporting timelines.
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and standardization across the business.

Preferred Minimum Education and Experience

  • CA (SA)
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in financial accounting, auditing, and reporting
  • In-depth knowledge of international financial reporting standards (IFRS, GAAP), tax laws, and financial regulations.
  • Proven experience in managing financial operations within an organization.
  • Strong proficiency in financial management software and ERP systems
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and financial modelling.
