About the position
GROUP FINANCE MANAGER CA(SA)
Minimum Requirements:
- Registered CA(SA)
- Minimum 5 years' post-qualification experience in a Group Finance Management function, interfacing with the board of directors/ EXCO within the heavy-industry or engineering or mining
Main duties will include, but are not limited to:
Executive Leadership
- Serve as a key member of the executive team, reporting directly to the board of directors.
- Preparation and presentation of financial results to the board of directors.
- Formulate strategic and long-term business plans.
Financial Management & Reporting
- Oversee the overall management of financial accounting, monitoring, and reporting systems.
- Provide and interpret financial information at various business levels.
- Prepare monthly management accounts and operational reports.
- Prepare and present budgets and forecasts.
- Prepare financial statements.
Performance & KPI Management
- Review, refine, and report regularly on key performance indicators (KPIs) across the business.
- Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction initiatives and profit maximization opportunities.
Accounting Policies & Compliance
- Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements, including but not limited to IFRS and the Tax Act.
- Review general ledger reconciliations.
- Review tax packs and VAT submissions.
Cash Flow & Working Capital Management
- Manage cash flow effectively to ensure liquidity.
- Oversee net working capital management to optimize business operations.
Team Leadership & Development
- Provide effective management of direct and indirect reports, including preparation of development plans and succession planning.
- Lead training and coaching initiatives for the finance team.
Payroll & BBBEE Management
- Manage payroll processes to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Oversee the management and optimization of the BBBEE scorecard.
External Stakeholder Management
- Develop and maintain external relationships with relevant contacts, including banks, auditors, and regulators.
- Coordinate external audits, resolve audit queries, and ensure timely and smooth completion of the audit process.
Strategic & Ad Hoc Responsibilities
- Prepare for and address ad hoc matters as required by the business.
